We would like to welcome Dr Minh Phan and Dr Rajini Peguda to the School.
Minh is a postdoctoral fellow who will be working with Dr Blanka Golebiowski, Scientia Professor Fiona Stapleton, Associate Professor Michele Madigan and Professor Mark Willcox on the effects of sex hormones on the meibomian glands. She comes to us with a PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from the UNSW School of Chemical Engineering. She is experienced in cell culture studying the combinatory effects of phytochemicals on antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, and has expertise in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) measuring bioactive compounds extracted from plants and tissue culture.
Rajini Peguda is a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS), UNSW. She was awarded her PhD in 2018 from the University of New South Wales, for developing a large diameter (LD) lens model to mimic the refractive effects of the orthokeratology treatment by modifying the front surface design of LD lenses. She works with the Research in Orthokeratology group, known for its work with various eye care industry partners in developing and studying innovative contact lens designs/products for refractive error correction. Rajini’s primary interests include contact lenses, myopia control, peripheral refraction and ocular aberrations.
Welcome Minh and Rajini!
