Dr Jingjing You is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Save Sight Institute, University of Sydney; Visiting Fellow at School of Optometry and Vision Science, University of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW, Australia; Member of The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Jingjing was awarded her PhD in 2012 from Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales. Her PhD project was to find potential prostate cancer biomarkers in human tears and serum using proteomic techniques. She was awarded with Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) PhD scholarship, and received Young Investigators Awards of 20th Asia Pacific Cancer Conference in 2012 for her biomarker research.
Her current work involves using proteomics and next generation gene sequencing techniques to analyse the pathogenesis of keratoconus. Recently she has been working with Dr Maria Markoulli, a UNSW lecturer, on the tear analysis of people with diabetes. She has publications in peer-reviewed international journals and published two book chapters. Her findings were presented on various national and international conferences and successfully attracted funding from Ophthalmic Research Institute of Australia, Sydney Medical School, Lions NSW Eye Bank and Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation.
